Timeshare scams and vacation club frauds are a danger when seeking the right timeshare investment in Cancun. However, with a little common sense you can easily avoid a timeshare scam and find the ideal investment for you and your family.

Should you beware Club Caribe scams in Cancun?
This is a tricky question. The easy answer is that if you are buying directly from Club Caribe at Villa del Palmar Cancun from a registered seller in the salesroom on site, there is no need to beware Club Caribe scams. Club Caribe is a legitimate vacation club that offers timeshare membership at Villa del Palmar Cancun, which extends to the use of resorts throughout Mexico, namely Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, Cabo San Lucas and Loreto as well as exchanges through Interval International vacation exchange network. Therefore, when dealing directly with Club Caribe, the danger of being involved in a scam is pretty non-existent.

However, here is reason to beware Club Caribe scams in Cancun if for some reason you are being sold a timeshare for Villa del Palmar Cancun or Club Caribe when you are not physically present at the resort, for example in an office or salesroom in another part of Cancun. In these circumstances you should beware. Many of the most costly timeshare scams occur when bogus sellers pretend to represent the major resorts, selling non-existent timeshare memberships. If you are offered a timeshare at Club Caribe without being taken to Villa del Palmar Cancun, beware! Likewise, if you are given a tour at Villa del Palmar Cancun and then invited the following day to sign the contract in another location, be very cautious and report the invitation to a senior member of the sales staff at the Club Caribe salesroom.

Other Club Caribe scams to beware are resale scams, which are not so common due to the fact that Villa del Palmar Resort was only opened in 2011. For that reason, you should not find many Club Caribe memberships for sale on the resale market; if you do, beware, they are likely to be scams! Club Caribe owners are more likely to be targeted by a resale scam, when resale agents tempt owners with the prospect of a large sum of money to sell their timeshare in exchange for an enrollment fee. Club Caribe members are sold the idea that there is a buyer interested in their timeshare only to find that it was a scam and the agents keep the joining fee.

With a little common sense, how to beware Club Caribe Scams should be simple. Genuine timeshare products should not lead you into a scam – just make sure you read your contract before signing.
