First thing to do following a Garza Blanca timeshare scam

Garza Blanca Resort

Firstly you should store a record of all communications between yourself and the fraudsters, including records of how much money you sent and to whom. Then you should contact both your attorney general’s office (the number for which can be found in the yellow pages or online) and the Federal Trade Commission’s Business Fraud Department (which can be contacted here; 1-877-382-4357). You should then report the incident to members services and ARDA, by going to http://www.arda.org/advisories.

Keep yourself safe from Garza Blanca Timeshare Scams

The types of Garza Blanca timeshare scams you may be involved in range from rental scams, cancellation scam to resale scams. In very rare circumstances, you may be met with and out and out fake scam, where fraudsters pretend to be selling genuine Garza Blanca timeshare scams when they do not have any association whatsoever with the hotel.  Take a look below at some of the scams.

Fake Garza Blanca Timeshare Scams

There have been no reported incidents of totally fake Garza Blanca timeshare scams at the time of publishing this article. However, it is a danger that should be considered with any timeshare company. Once a common type of scam, nowadays local authorities have been cracking down on potential scams that pretend to be selling genuine vacation ownership products when they have no authority to do so. These types of scams are easy to detect because the sale of the property will not take place at the resort but at another location. The best advice is to only purchase a timeshare while you are physically at the resort in question.

Garza Blanca Timeshare Scams for Rentals

Even happy timeshare members will sometimes be unable to use their vacation time and opt to rent out their interval. Renting out your weeks can be a great way to cover your maintenance fees and even earn a little! If you are unable to save your points for the following year, then be careful when looking for a rental agent to represent you. Sometimes rental scammers will pose as a rental agency and offer to find you a tenant – of course there are genuine agencies that will do this, but they will always charge commission rather than an upfront fee. To avoid these fraudsters simply look for recommended agencies and beware upfront fees!

Resale Scams for Garza Blanca Timeshare

Resale scams can tempt even the most contented of members as those who contact you will often say they have a buyer willing to pay a huge sum of money for your timeshare unit. They will proceed to ask for an introduction fee in return for the buyers contact details. When you give them the money they will vanish.

Scams when Cancelling a Garza Blanca Timeshare

Cancellation scams are the most dangerous, but the easiest to side step if you only keep this in mind; after the mandatory cooling off period your contract is legally binding and cannot be cancelled. You may be contacted by someone posing as a lawyer who will attempt to fool you into thinking they can do so, and they may even say the service is free! After some time, though, they will levy fees due to “complications” and will eventually disappear – leaving you to deal with the default of a loan you had thought was cancelled.
