The very thought of packing to go away can be a real hair-raiser, can’t it? You have to worry about whether or not you have everything you need; do you have enough of it? and will you be over the weight limit once you get to the airport? … a pain all round, right? Well we have some handy packing pointers for a Mexico vacation that will really blow you away!
Color Schemes are your friend
When you want to be fabulous, but don’t have eight cases to fill, why not pick a color scheme that you like and then only pack clothes that are complementary to that color scheme. This means that you will get the most out of your chosen clothes (as they will all go with each other), but also that you won’t have to pack as many shoes!

Pack one pair of flip flops, one pair of walking shoes, and one elegant evening pair. So long as they go with your color scheme, you’ll never find yourself in need of any more.
The wonders of an E-reader
Magazines and books will be harder to find in English once you get to Mexico, and those you can find will be more expensive than normal. You, likewise, don’t want to bring too many books and magazines as they will add to the overall weight of your case! To avoid this, why not bring a tablet or e-reader (such as a kindle) so that you can enjoy any number of books and magazines without adding weight to your case.
Carry-on luggage is a life saver
You have two options here; if you don’t intend to bring anything extra back with you then you can use your hand luggage to make sure that you don’t go over your weight allowance by putting some of your heavier items (shoes, books, jewellery) into your carry-on bag. Alternatively, if you like to bring back souvenirs, you can pack half a suitcase and slip a small carry on suitcase into your main case. That way when you come back you’ll have extra room in your case, and a carry on case for your extra knick knacks.
Of course, if there’s more than one of you in your party, someone can bring a carry on rucksack with them on the way there, and someone can have the mini-case as their main suitcase for the way back.
