You may not have known that some of the most varied and tastiest foods can be found in Mexico as well. You can enjoy everything from tasty tacos from street vendors to fine dining in upscale restaurants. Puerto Vallarta has a little bit of every kind of food. We have provided some of the top PV restaurants. The next time you are visiting Puerto Vallarta, you should make sure you try them all.

La Palapa Restaurant

La Palapa Restaurant is well-known in Puerto Vallarta as it is one of the oldest and first restaurants that started serving on the beach. The restaurant was established in 1951, and Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor were some of the regular clientele during the fifties and sixties. La Palapa has an Asian and French inspired menu, and uses only fresh and local ingredients. Each plate looks amazing with exquisite presentation, and each diner will have an enjoyable experience thanks to the amazing beach views. You can choose to dine under the palapa roof inside, or dine al fresco right on the beach with your toes in the sand.

Mariscos El Coleguita 

The Mariscos El Coleguita is another popular restaurant in PV. They have a couple locations around town and the marina location has the best views as diners can see the beautiful marina and the Sierra Madre Mountains in the background. Mariscos El Coleguita provides a casual atmosphere so diners don’t need to dress up when coming here to eat. The restaurant specializes in fresh seafood that is caught and prepared daily, and they provide large portions so visitors with a big appetite with be thrilled. Every meal comes with a complimentary shot of tequila and a delicious dessert. 

Florio’s Restaurant

Florio’s Restaurant is the place to go if you are in the mood for Italian dishes. The owners are Italian and Argentinian, and they have created some of the best and unique dishes that come with a touch of Mexican flair. Every pasta dish is amazing along with their thin crust pizzas, and their homemade chimichurri sauce is a perfect compliment to any dish you choose. The restaurant is located in downtown just off the Malecon boardwalk, and the décor is bright and cozy which is ideal for friends wanting to get together or couples looking to have a date night. You will want to check their calendar because they often have live music at the restaurant. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday they have a happy hour, which features 2×1 for drinks. There isn’t a better way to begin your week than at Florio’s Restaurant. 

Barcelona Tapas

Barcelona Tapas Restaurant is a popular and must-visit restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. The rooftop terrace was recently renovated, and it provides diners with amazing views of Banderas bay that you won’t find elsewhere. Every dish is absolutely delicious. Barcelona Tapas Restaurant provides a menu that includes Spanish paella and a large variety of tapas plates to suit everyone’s taste. The bacon wrapped dates and the country salad are two items that you won’t want to miss. Fresh baked bread and papas al aioli are complementary for every table. During the day, the restaurant offers delicious sangria 2×1 specials, and for wine lovers they offer extensive wine varieties.

La Leche 

If you want an unusual and exciting dining experience, then you will want to go to La Leche Restaurant located in the hotel zone. The décor has been done in all white, and their dishes are creative and delicious. When you are taken to a table, you will see the featured menu of the day written out on a chalkboard that is brought to your table. La Leche is a top restaurant due to the creative and fresh ingredients and amazing presentation. La Nata is a bar located within the restaurant on the second floor. You may get to hear live music being performed by the son of the Chef if you are dining late. Also, every Thursday is ladies night so you will want to make sure all of your girlfriends come to La Leche to enjoy the free drinks and exciting ambiance.

Los Muertos Brewing Company 

Want the best beer and pizza in town? Look no further than the Los Muertos Brewing Company. In 2012, the Los Muertos opened their opens becoming the first brewery in Puerto Vallarta. They provide a variety of locally crafted beer to meet everyone’s taste, which includes the Mexicana Rubia which is a light bodied ale, Anillo de Fuego which is a spicy ale, and the Agave Maria is a medium bodied ale. There are so many different choices, but you can choose the sampler flight so you can try a variety of beers. The pizza is all cooked in a large, homemade wood fired oven. There are a few big screen televisions to watch sports while you are enjoying the delicious pizza and craft beer in the bar area, and head upstairs if you are wanting to enjoy a more peaceful meal. 

Salud Super Foods 

Salud Super Foods is a casual restaurant that is open Monday thru Saturday for breakfast and lunch. Salud Super Foods is located near the Romantica Zone in Olas Altas just a short walk from the PV pier. They specialize in providing healthy and delicious foods at an affordable price. There is a limited seating, but you can choose to dine indoors or outdoors based on availability or take your order to go. They also make incredible fresh smoothies, salads, wraps, and sandwiches that are all affordable as well.

El Carboncito Restaurant

One of the top PV spots for tacos is El Carboncito. Their main special is Al Pastor Tacos, which is shredded and marinated pork tacos topped with fresh onions, cilantro, and slices of sweet pineapple. They also provide carne asada tacos, which are the best ones in Puerto Vallarta. If you go to El Carboncito, you should make sure you try the volcan, which is a crispy tostada stye tortilla that is topped with al pastor meat and melted cheese. They also have a large amount of homemade salsas which include a creamy avocado sauce and the super spicy chile de arbol salsa.
