Representatives from Garza Blanca Preserve received official recognition for the quality of Garza Blanca Beach last Wednesday October 9, 2013 in a presentation ceremony held on the premises of the resort. The certification was authorized by the Mexican Institute of Standardization and Certification (IMNC) which is a government body that regulates the cleanliness and standards of beaches in Mexico’s touristic zones.
Only 4 beaches in Puerto Vallarta were classified with this prestigious award, making Garza Blanca Beach another truly unrivaled asset to the resort and Residence Club. At the award ceremony, Garza Blanca received two certificates, one for having met the strict specifications set out by the standard NMX-AA-120-SCFI-2006 for cleanness, safety and conservation of the environment and the other to commend the participation of the resort and its staff in the active preservation of the beach and its clean up activities.
Signature Residences Sales and Marketing Director, Mr. Javier Garcia accepted the certification for the beach’s successful compliance with the norm NMX-AA-120-SCFI-2006, while, Garza Blanca’s maintenance manager, Ing. Javier Contreras, received the certificate on behalf of staff for their part in maintaining the quality and cleanliness of the beach.
Notable guests at the ceremony included Puerto Vallarta’s mayor, Ramón Guerrero Martínez, in addition to a number of important esteemed dignitaries such Luis Fernando González Guevara, Puerto Vallarta’s Environment and Ecology Minister, José Ludwig Estrada Virgen, Minister for Tourism, and Elizabeth Schulz Zapata, IMNC’s Commercial Manager.
IMNC certifies beaches after careful evaluation of various aspects of cleanliness, health risks, waste water disposal, impact on the environment and safety, sending officials to carry out an assessment of each beach. There are also other elements that are taken into consideration, such as the fact that the vegetation on and near the beach must be native to the area and that the results of water samples are on view for visitors to see.
The coveted beach certification is just more evidence of the impeccable advantages of becoming a member of Garza Blanca Residence Club. Owners and visitors should expect only the best quality, and this certification stands testimony to Garza Blanca’s commitment to excellence.
